Virgin Gorda is the third largest of the British Virgin Islands (behind Tortola and Anegada), and has the second largest population. Christopher Columbus is said to have named the island “The Fat Virgin”, from the horizon the island’s profile looks like a fat woman lying on her side.

Charter to Virgin Gorda

Virgin Gorda is home to “The Baths”, also known as the 8th Wonder of the World. At The Baths, the beach shows evidence of the island’s volcanic origins, as huge granite boulders stand in formations on the beach, forming scenic grottoes that are open to the sea. This is a must see for everyone! Top of the Baths restaurant offers a great lunch option, and there is shopping and a grocery store in Spanish Town. Sunshine Daydream, like most charter boats in operation, utilizes the taxi cabs in Spanish Town for transportation to and from the Baths. Round trip taxi, and fee for the Baths is approximately $12-$15/person.

Please keep in mind that Virgin Gorda is the furthest destination that day charter boats will go to (approximately 23 miles), and usually allows for one or two more stops for the day. Don’t get me wrong….it’s well worth the trip!
